Selena Mountain

This is our advanced all mountain tour.

Itinerary

This is our advanced all mountain tour. We start from selinari monastery. We ride exclusively off-road and warm up initially riding through the gorge of selinarii. The tour continues into the wild through some technical terrain leading onto the old monastery of Ag. Georgios, built during the Byzantine Era (late 1500s). At this point we enjoy a quick break combined with some snacks to restore our glucose levels. We continue with a 7km ascend and reach an altitude of 1000m at the foot of Mt Selena. Here is a rare Azilakas forest, a dense and untouched forest with Holm Oak trees, a large evergreen oak native to the Mediterranean region. Once we reach our peak, we ride almost entirely down-hill on technical and rocky single tracks. On the way down we also go through the traditional village of Krasi and Mochos until we eventually reach  a technical man made singletrack from the first world war soldiers.super views and good fun for 5 klm takes us to the back door of malia!
